Instructions for Use of Boobamilk Powder

Freeze-dried raw milk products are not sterile (not pasteurized). Boobamilk powder should be stored and prepared properly in order to prevent contamination with bacteria that can cause serious illness.

Boobamilk powder is intended for supplemental feeding only and is not intended for premature or immunocompromised systems.

Remember: Before preparing milk, wash your hands thoroughly with soap and warm water!

step one

1. Add water

Add purified water to a pre-sterilized container of choice according to instructions on your pouch. Pre-warming the water may be necessary to avoid clumping.

Tips:

  • Always measure the water first and then add the powder.
  • Never heat in a microwave. Microwaving can destroy nutrients in the milk powder and heat the milk unevenly.
step two

2. Add powder

Use a clean, dry scoop to measure the correct amount of powder according to the table on the back of the pouch. Make sure your scoop is tightly packed and leveled. The volumes listed in the table will ensure accurate rehydration of your milk, which is important for the correct nutrient/water balance.

Tips:

  • Write the date you opened the bag in the space provided on the pouch.
  • Tightly seal zipper between uses.
  • Do NOT store scoop inside the pouch. Store in a clean, dry place between uses.
step three

3. Mix it up

Close the container and swirl. If any clumps remain, gently heat the container under hot running water and continue swirling. Shake if needed.

Some separation and minor clumping may still be present, this is normal. If warm water was used, don’t forget to check that the temperature is not too hot.

Storage Recommendations

Powder

  • Store sealed pouches in a cool, dry, indoor place - not in vehicles, garages, or outdoors.
  • Once a pouch is opened, store in a cool, dry place with the zipper tightly sealed.
  • Discard unused powder after 30 days of opening.
  • Discard entire pouch if moisture is introduced at any time.
  • Do not store your scoop inside the pouch! Keep in a clean, dry place in-between uses.
  • Do not use past expiration date printed on the label.

Rehydrated Boobamilk

  • If warm water is used to rehydrate the powder, it should be used within 1 hour and not refrigerated.
  • If cool or room temp water is used to rehydrate the powder, the milk can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours.
  • Discard any milk left over from a feeding or after 24 hours in the refrigerator.
  • Do not freeze rehydrated milk.
  • Be sure to clean and sanitize any feeding utensils before their next use.
