Is the dairy used in Boobamilk powder A2?

Yes, the dairy products used in Boobamilk powders are from A2/A2 cows.

What is the nutritional composition of Boobamilk powders?

Comprehensive nutritional information for Boobamilk powders can be found on their individual product pages.

Storage & Shelf Life

Where should I store my Boobamilk powder?

Unopened bags of Boobamilk powder can be stored in a cool, dark, dry space such as your pantry.

Opened bags of Boobamilk powder need to be tightly re-sealed and kept in a cool, dry place, limiting exposure to moisture, oxygen or heat. Once opened, use within 30 days. Discard entire pouch if moisture is introduced at any time.

Do not store in extreme temperatures. There is no need to refrigerate or freeze Boobamilk powder.

How long does a bag of opened Boobamilk powder last?

Once opened, use Boobamilk powder within 30 days of opening. To ensure the safety of your product throughout that time, please completely re-seal the zipper and keep the bag in a cool, dark, dry place, limiting exposure to moisture, oxygen or heat.

The powder will rapidly start to attract moisture if left unsealed, which can lead to bacterial growth as the raw milk powder was not pasteurized during the freeze-drying process. Leftover powder should be discarded after the 30 day period, or if moisture is introduced into the bag at any point in time.

What is the shelf life of Boobamilk powder?

The expiration date of unopened freeze-dried Boobamilk powder is 3 years from the date of freeze-drying. This date is located on the back or bottom of your pouch.

Pet Food- Raw Milk Blends

Are the pet food blends safe for human consumption?

While Boobamilk powder is manufactured using high-quality ingredients and produced under rigorous quality and sanitation practices, our pet food blends are formulated, labeled, and sold exclusively for pet use.

Our raw milk is not pasteurized at any point during the manufacturing process, which places these products outside the regulatory framework for human food. For these reasons, we are not legally allowed to recommend or represent our pet food blends for human consumption.

Are your raw milk pet products made with safety in mind?

Yes — our raw milk pet products are produced using a multi-step quality and safety program designed to reduce risk at every stage, from sourcing to final packaging.

We source our milk from a small family farm that follows rigorous quality practices and operates a clean, Grade A dairy facility for milk production. As part of their routine quality program, the farm conducts daily testing for indicators such as coliforms and standard plate count to monitor cleanliness and handling conditions.

During production, we follow strict hygiene and sanitation protocols, including protective gear, validated cleaning procedures, and controlled handling practices. Team members are trained in sanitary food-handling procedures appropriate for low-moisture products.

Each production lot undergoes final quality and safety verification steps, including water-activity testing to confirm the powder has reached a low-moisture level that helps inhibit microbial growth and supports long-term shelf stability when stored as directed. Representative samples from each lot are also sent to an independent, third-party laboratory for microbial analysis, including testing for pathogens such as Listeria, Salmonella, E. coli O157, and other indicator organisms.

Products are not released for sale unless all internal specifications are met, including non-detect results for tested pathogens and established limits for other microorganisms. For transparency, we make lot-specific laboratory results available so customers can review testing information for their specific batch.

We take product quality and safety seriously and aim to provide pet families with clear information about how our products are made and tested.

Are the raw milk pet blends made the same way and held to the same standards as your whole-food powders?

Yes! Our raw milk pet blends and our whole-food powders are made using the same rigorous quality and safety standards, following the same process and using the same high-quality ingredients. We believe every product we make—whether for people or pets—should be produced with care and attention.

Are the pet food blends heated at any point during production?

Our dairy products are not heated above ~95°F at any point during production. Any heating required is kept to an absolute minimum in both temperature and duration to minimize heat exposure and maintain the raw characteristics of the ingredients throughout production.

How should I incorporate Boobamilk into my pets feeding plan?

Boobamilk is intended to complement your pet’s existing diet and feeding plan and is intended for supplemental feeding only. It is not intended for premature or immunocompromised systems. We always suggest working with your pets veterinarian to ensure all of their nutritional needs are being met.

How do I rehydrate my Boobamilk powder?

Simply mix the indicated amount of powder with the indicated amount of purified water (preferably warm).

We provide you with detailed instructions on how to safely rehydrate your Boobamilk powder on the back of your pouch.

Once I mix Boobamilk powder with water, how long do I have to use it?

Detailed storage instructions are available on the back of each pouch.

When I rehydrate my powder, it becomes clumpy. How can I fix this?

Some clumping may happen due to the fats in Boobamilk powder. Gently heat the container containing the Boobamilk liquid under hot running water or place the container in a hot water bath for 1-2 minutes, then mix again.

We recommend using warm water to rehydrate and a frothing wand for mixing to avoid clumping.

My rehydrated Boobamilk turned gelatinous after being refrigerated, is this normal?

Yes, this is due to the gelatin in the product and is completely normal. Just give it a few big shakes and proceed as normal.

My rehydrated Boobamilk has separated, is this normal?

Boobamilk is a natural product that has not been homogenized and contains no emulsifiers. This means some separation may occur after rehydration and is completely normal. Just give it a few shakes and proceed as normal.

Manufacturing/Freeze-Drying

Where/how are your products made?

Our products are hand-made with care in small batches in a licensed commercial kitchen in Moscow, Idaho.

We use a gentle lyophilization (freeze-drying) process to turn our liquid gold into a powder. Our freeze-drying process is a low-temperature method that does not rely on high heat, and is designed to help preserve the natural characteristics of the milk and other ingredients.

Heating milk to high temperatures can alter certain naturally occurring components. This is why we take such care in our manufacturing process when creating our products.

Do you use powder dispensers?

No, every bag is packaged by hand.

How does the freeze-drying process work?

Freeze-drying, also known as lyophilization, is a low-temperature dehydration process used to remove moisture from a product. It works through the following steps:

  1. Freezing
The product is first frozen at very low temperatures, which turns the water within the product into ice.
  2. Vacuum Environment
Once frozen, the product is placed into a chamber where the surrounding air pressure is reduced, creating a vacuum.
  3. Sublimation
Under these low-pressure conditions, the frozen water does not pass through a liquid phase. Instead, the ice transitions directly into water vapor (a process known as sublimation), which is removed from the chamber.
  4. Secondary Drying
After most of the moisture has been removed, the product is gently warmed to remove residual bound moisture. In our process, temperatures do not exceed approximately 95°F. This step helps support product stability during storage.

Because freeze-drying avoids high temperatures and liquid water, it is widely used for products where maintaining physical structure and ingredient integrity is important. For this reason, freeze-drying is commonly used across food, pharmaceutical, and scientific applications.

How does your freeze-drying process affect the nutrients in Boobamilk?

Freeze-drying is a low-temperature dehydration process that removes moisture without direct heat. By avoiding high temperatures, the process is designed to support consistency in Boobamilk’s macronutrient composition—including proteins, fats, carbohydrates, and overall caloric content—and is commonly used when gentle moisture removal is preferred.

How does freeze-drying compare to other drying methods?

Freeze-drying offers several process-related differences compared to other drying methods, such as heat or air drying. By operating at low temperatures and avoiding direct heat, freeze-drying is commonly used in applications where maintaining the original composition of ingredients is a priority.

Because heat exposure is limited, freeze-drying is often selected for products containing heat-sensitive components, including certain vitamins, proteins, and enzymes, which can be altered during high-temperature processing. In addition, removing moisture without applying heat helps maintain the product’s original flavor and physical structure compared to traditional drying methods.

For these reasons, freeze-drying is widely used for delicate materials across food, scientific, and pharmaceutical applications, including products where heat exposure is undesirable.
